2012: Coates Methodist Church holds its final service.  Peterborough Telegraph news report can be found here.

2009: Pilot dies in Fens Air Crash.

1974: I have discovered that Coates was featured in the Peterborough Standard in August 1974.  The reporter was describing that it was a desirable place to live whereas it had not been in the past because of the 'belching brickwork chimneys' not far away.

1943: A plane crash in March 1943 killed 3 people who appear on my family tree, I have discovered from Ancestry.co.uk.  See dedicated page.
