To the OPS comment, I have to say the person who rejected my MI transcriptions was encountered at a Family History Fair and seemed to speak for the society. Maybe she thought I was some kind of nutter!
I started this blog as a kind of occasional diary although I was expecting the odd comment. I had a kind one yesterday but there appears to be no way to reply to replies in this blog facility, other than to edit the original post.

I made two trips to Coates this week to check the plot map; the first visit was curtailed by heavy rain after what had been a lovely day. A few tweaks will be needed but I am pleased that the task is essentially complete. Now all I have to do is to produce the Monumental Inscription book and present one to the church and the Peterborough Family Hostory Society. With luck it ought to be ready in time for Christmas.
I was surprised - last year - that one other nearby society was not the least bit interested in my transcriptions! Last year I started to draw a plot map of the cemetery. I was not entirely pleased with it so, this summer holiday, I started again this time using Publisher. This evening I completed the task of putting on the last grave and I now need to visit to check the feel of the layout. It is never going to be accurate - more topological - but the access I had to the church plot maps has helped.
Here is just a bit of it. Today I have added some more news to the Peterborough Advertiser pages following some library research yesterday.
