The Peterborough Advertiser 1926-1929
I went through the Advertisers for 1926-1929 in August 2016 in a day. I knew there would not be much on my family as such (although there is a little on more distant relations) but I wanted to cover the period so no gaps had been left. I decided to list the subject of the each article or paragraph and I took digital photos of a few interesting ones purely for my own research.
I have used abbreviation such as WI for Womens' Institite, MU for Mothers' Union.
In the years which follow, the card game Whist seems to have been the main pastime or fund-raising activity. The game had been around a long time but I wonder if there was a sudden interest in it. My aunt (in the 1960s) was still talking about Whist Drives.
