Clergy of Holy Trinity, Coates
Full details [such as exact dates] are available in the County Records office. I have been able to trace those clergy who were present in Coates during a census. For some I looked to see where else they went.
John Smith Nuzum
I came across a puzzle when I was going through the 1861 census. On one commercial Family History site the Curate of Holy Trinity was given as John Muzeem and on another as John Nuzum. I myself found it hard to work out which was correct - see below; it's easy when you know the answer. I found the correct name by accident going through Google Books where I came across The Gentleman's Magazine for 1858. There is an entry on page 537 about a death, dated September 15th, as follows:
At Coates, Whittlesey, aged 44, Mrs Nuzum, wife of the Rev. J. Nuzum, Incumbent of Holy Trinity, Coates.
In the 1861 census John is married again to Elizabeth. John and his children Catherine (23) and Thomas (16) were born Ireland. Elizabeth was born in Manea, Cambridgeshire so this seems to support what I have said. I managed to find the marriage certificate for John and Elizabeth which is online; amazingly they were married in London so there is more of a puzzle here than I expected.

Sadly John Smith Nuzum died later in 1861 (a few months after the census).
